Try this to Beat the Winter Blues

Is winter a struggle for you? It is for me and I’m fairly certain I’m not alone. 

Winter is the slow, Kapha time of year.  Kapha is an ayurvedic term for the cold, damp, introspective and imaginative qualities within us, and the winter season. During this time, there is a slow hum of life force energy, called prana, in the earth that is hibernating and building momentum.  Come Spring, that prana bursts through our gardens, our minds, and our hearts. We need this time to build the inner energy reserve to fuel the blossoming of the earth’s vegetation and of our dreams.

But to build the inner reserve, we need to slow down.

Being with the hum of the planet in winter is challenging though.  Winter can look dry, dead, cold, grey, and snowy in some parts.  It can weigh heavily on our emotions to live through the cold of winter. 

As I mentioned earlier, I am one of those people who has a hard time during winter.  I fantasize about tropical places all winter long, until I go to one!  Having a baby this winter makes it hard to leave, so in addition to loving her, I’ve been working with this meditation, I’d like to share with you. 

Because I won’t be offering the Free Conference Call Healing this month, I hope this supports you through the the winter blues…or the Hum of the Earth, as I’d like to call it.
